Fried Goat Cheese Balls

These fried goat cheese balls from SUR bring a taste of West Hollywood glamour to your table

  • 10.5 oz La Bonne Vie Goat Cheese

  • ½ tsp Black Pepper

  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt

  • 4 Egg Yolks, large

  • 2 Egg, large

  • 1 ½ cup Breadcrumbs

Ingredients:

SUR’s Mango Dipping Sauce:

  • ¾ cup Mango Pulp, frozen

  • 2 tbsp Rice Cinegar

  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil

  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt

    (Blend all ingredients together)

  1. Shape La Bonne Vie Goat Cheese into balls and sprinkle with 1 tsp of salt and pepper.

  2. Whisk eggs and yolks in a bowl until smooth.

  3. Place breadcrumbs in a separate bowl. Dip each goat cheese ball in the egg, then roll in breadcrumbs.

  4. Repeat the process for a double coating.

  5. Chill on a parchment-lined plate for 12 hours or freeze for 30 minutes for a quicker option.

  6. Heat 1.5-2 inches of canola oil in a saucepan to 350°F.

  7. Fry cheese balls in batches until golden brown, turning frequently, about 3-4 minutes.

  8. Drain on paper towels and repeat with remaining balls.

  9. Serve with mango dipping sauce and enjoy!
